Pelvic support problems are common in about half of women who have given birth and may also occur in women that have not had children. Pelvic organs may prolapse into the vagina due to weakened fascia and muscles. A feeling of pelvic fullness, bulging, lower back discomfort, urinary, bowel or sexual difficulties may present.
An attempt at fitting a woman with a pessary, a device inserted into the vagina to support the prolapsing organs is an option that may be tried to relieve symptoms. Also surgical options are reviewed.
One out of three women live with some type of undesired bladder symptoms. Apex M is an over the counter, FDA cleared device that treats stress, urge or mixed urinary incontinence and minor pelvic support problems. Apex M uses muscle stimulation to activate and strengthen the correct pelvic floor muscles efficiently which leads to improved pelvic tone and calms spasms preventing leakage.
