Welcome to OBGYN Specialists! We are honored that you have chosen us as your providers, and we look forward to being your partners in health. If you are a new patient to our practice, or if this is your first pregnancy with us, we thought it would be helpful for you to know a few basics about how our practice runs.
Our practice consists of seven physicians, one nurse practitioner, and one physician’s assistant. We pride ourselves in being a partnership; that is, we work cooperatively to ensure that you will receive the best care possible. It is a daily occurrence for one of us to confer with the rest of the group for advice on how to treat a complicated patient. Using this practice model, we believe that you are being cared for not by just one provider, but by a collective brain-trust. During your pregnancy, you have the choice to continue to see the same provider throughout your prenatal care, or to rotate through the practice and see multiple providers.
When you reach your second or third trimester, you will be asked to choose the hospital where you will deliver your baby. Our practice performs deliveries at both Fairview Southdale and Fairview Ridges Hospitals. You are welcome to tour either or both hospitals to help make your decision.
We understand that pregnancy brings both joy and uncertainty. You will almost certainly have a long list of questions about your health throughout your prenatal care. The first thing we recommend is to write your questions down as soon as you think of them. Bring your list of questions to your prenatal appointments so we can help address your concerns. When your concerns are emergent, you should call our office for assistance. If our office is closed, an answering service will answer the phone, and a physician will be paged with your concerns.
When your big day finally arrives and you’ve been admitted to Labor and Delivery to meet your new baby, one of the seven physicians will be on call to welcome your new baby into the world. While we cannot guarantee that a specific physician will be able to attend your delivery, please remember that we work cooperatively, and that we are a partnership.
We look forward to working with you to achieve a healthy pregnancy, and we are honored that you have chosen OBGYN Specialists.
